7-day auction
You build the listing and pick a start time, and it goes in front of our bidders for seven days. There is no reserve: the highest bid wins. Insured shipping to our verifier comes out of your payout.
A Patek is the watch people are most afraid to sell badly. Grey Market takes the fear out of it: an independent verifier, the buyer's payment collected and held until the watch passes, an audience that buys Calatravas and Nautiluses by reference, and no seller commission at auction at any price.
You build the listing and pick a start time, and it goes in front of our bidders for seven days. There is no reserve: the highest bid wins. Insured shipping to our verifier comes out of your payout.
We buy your watch outright. You get one firm cash number. If you accept, we pay for insured shipping to our verifier and wire your payment once it clears. Nothing else comes off.
List it at your own price for ID-verified collectors. Answer questions in public, then accept, counter or decline offers.
Most submissions reviewed within 1 business day · No fee if we decline · No obligation to accept an offer

Not sure? Ask for the instant offer first. It costs nothing and there is no obligation, so you can compare it with what the auction or the Exchange might bring. The Exchange terms set out offers, shipping and returns in full.
The fee math
The buyer pays on top of the price, not out of it: $10,700 for a $10,000 hammer at auction (7% premium, paid by wire), or $10,125 on the Exchange (1.25% fee). The buyer’s premium guide sets this against the major auction houses.
* The dealer figure is a typical wholesale discount, not a quote from any dealer. The marketplace figure is Chrono24’s published private-seller commission, checked October 3, 2026; that marketplace may charge other fees. Illustration only; your results will vary.
How it works
Photos and the basics, in under five minutes. Our team decides whether to take the lot.
Sign the seller agreement, add payout details and verify your ID, then draft the listing and pick a start time, at least four hours out. It goes on the calendar when you submit.
No reserve: the highest bid wins. Bids in the last 2 minutes extend the clock, so there is no sniping.
The buyer’s payment is collected and held. Ship to our independent verifier on the next-day insured label within 2 business days.
Once the watch passes authentication it ships to the buyer. The hammer less your shipping is released when they accept it or their 24-hour delivery window closes.
Photos and the basics, in under five minutes. Add an asking price if you have one in mind.
Our team reviews the watch and sends a firm cash number, usually within 24 hours. No obligation.
Sign the seller agreement and ship on the next-day insured label we send and pay for.
Our verifier confirms the watch matches your submission.
We wire your payment about 1 day after the watch clears. Nothing comes off the offer.
Invited sellers sign the agreement, verify their ID and draft a post. We approve the watch once, usually within 24 hours, and the post goes live.
Collectors ask in public and make binding offers in private. Accept, counter or decline.
Once you accept, the buyer has 24 hours to pay and chooses whether to add authentication. Grey Market collects it as your payment agent.
Use the Grey Market shipping label and mail your watch within 2 business days, next-day and insured, paid for by the buyer: straight to them, or via our verifier if they added authentication.
Your payout, less the 1.25% fee, is released once the buyer’s 24-hour delivery window closes and we confirm the sale.
What collectors want
Patek Philippe holds value because the buyers are careful, and careful buyers pay for provenance. An Extract from the Archives, an unpolished case and the original certificate can be the difference between a good result and a record one. Our verifier checks the watch, our listing states exactly what comes with it, and the bidders do the rest.
Linked references have a full Patek Philippe reference guide with production years, variants and sold prices. Any Patek Philippe is welcome; these are the ones bidders ask for most.
Price drivers
Patek will confirm the date of sale, the calibre and the original configuration from the case and movement serials. It is the document bidders most want to see and the cheapest way to add to the hammer.
Patek cases are thin and their hallmarks shallow. An unpolished case with crisp hallmarks and sharp lugs is worth materially more than a polished one, and it cannot be undone.
The original certificate, the box, the hang tag and the service papers. For a modern reference the certificate matters most; for vintage, service history from Patek or a known specialist.
An untouched enamel or lacquered dial, original hands and the correct signature for the year. Refinished dials are common on vintage Calatravas and are priced accordingly.
On the Exchange now

Each seller set the price and answers questions in public. Post yours the same way, or see everything on the Exchange.
There are two: a case serial inside the caseback and a movement serial on the movement itself. Both appear on the certificate and the Extract. Our Patek serial guide explains the eras each points to; a watchmaker opens the back if you do not have the papers.
It helps, and it is inexpensive relative to the watch, but it takes weeks. If you want to sell sooner, submit now; we can note the request in the listing and the verifier's inspection covers the authentication.
Submit photos and the basics; our team reviews them within a business day. Take the firm offer, or draft the listing and let collectors bid on it for seven days. Ship on the insured label, the verifier confirms the watch, and you are paid once it passes. No seller commission, and nothing to pay if we decline.
Not at auction: Grey Market auctions run without a reserve, so the highest bid wins. If you have a price you need to hit, list it on the Exchange at your own price, or ask for an instant offer first and decide.
On an instant offer, nothing: we pay for insured shipping and nothing comes off the offer. On an auction there is no listing fee and no commission; your only cost is insured shipping to our verifier, deducted from your payout, and buyers pay a 7% premium on the hammer. On the Exchange, the seller and the buyer each pay 1.25%, with a $25 minimum, and the buyer pays shipping. There is no fee if we decline a submission.
The instant offer is a firm cash price, usually within 24 hours, wired about 1 day after the watch clears authentication. The auction takes longer but lets bidders set the price. If you have a number in mind and time to wait, the Exchange lets you list at that price. You can ask for the offer first and decide after.
No. Auctions run without a reserve, so the highest bid wins. If you have a price you need to hit, list it on the Exchange or take the instant offer.
Instant offer: we wire your payment about 1 day after the watch clears authentication. Auction: when bidding closes, the buyer's payment is collected and held, and you ship to our verifier within two business days; your proceeds are released once the watch passes verification and the buyer's 24-hour delivery window closes, then your bank’s timing applies. Exchange: once the buyer’s 24-hour delivery window closes and we confirm the sale.
Any member who has signed the seller agreement, verified their ID and set up payouts. You set the asking price, answer questions in public, and accept, counter or decline binding offers. Grey Market approves the watch once before the post goes live, and you ship within two business days of the buyer paying, on the shipping label we provide. Buyers can add authentication for a fee that covers the extra shipping leg; with it they have 24 hours after delivery to return, and without it the sale is final. Open to every member since October 2026.
Buyers make binding offers in private, each open for between 1 and 48 hours. You can accept, decline or counter; counters move in set steps, $10 under $1,000 and $100 above. Once you accept, the buyer has 24 hours to pay, and Grey Market holds the payment until the sale completes. You then ship within two business days on the insured label we provide.
It depends on the buyer. If they add authentication, your watch ships to our verifier first, and once it passes they have 24 hours from delivery to accept it or return it. If they do not, the sale is final: they have 24 hours from delivery to report damage or non-receipt, and you are paid after that. The photos you take as you pack are your record of what you sent.
No. Our team reviews every auction submission, and only about one in ten makes it through. Most of the rest are honest watches that are not right for our bidders, priced above the market, or not what the listing says. There is no fee if we decline.
Submit it anyway. Box and papers add to the price, but most of the best vintage watches lost theirs decades ago. What matters is that the watch is original, which is exactly what verification checks.
Yes, through the instant offer. If we want the watch we send a firm price, usually within 24 hours. Accept it, ship it on the insured label we pay for, and we wire your payment once it clears authentication.
By brand
Grey Market is independent and not affiliated with the brands shown. Any collectible watch is welcome. These pages cover what bidders look for in each brand. Not sure what you have? Look up the serial.
Free, with no obligation. A firm cash number, usually within 24 hours.
